Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-August 2025

In January-August 2025, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €1,723 million, compared to a surplus of €1,368 million in the same period of 2024. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €46,697 million, compared to €43,422 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €42,189 million, from €38,760 million in January-August 2024.
