Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-February 2026

In January-February 2026, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €328 million, compared to a surplus of €836 million in the same period of 2025. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €10,972 million, compared to €11,636 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €11,009 million, from €10,781 million in January-February 2025.
