Non-monetary financial institutions

The Bank of Greece publishes, on a quarterly (or monthly) basis, key asset and liability items of financial institutions outside the MFI  sector.

Non-monetary financial institutions comprise: insurance corporations;, occupational pension funds within the scope of Law 3029/2002; investment  funds within the scope of Law 3283/2004; portfolio investment companies (PICs) within the scope of Law 3371/2005; real estate investment companies (REICs) within the scope of Law 778/1999; leasing companies; factoring companies; venture capital companies; and credit companies.

The data are derived from the balance sheets that, under  the relevant Bank of Greece Governor’s Acts, these financial institutions are required to submit to the Bank of Greece, mainly for the  purpose of the compilation of the national financial accounts.
