Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-September 2023

In January-September 2023, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of €494 million, compared to a deficit of €5,380 million in the same period of 2022. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €44,851 million, compared to €40,482 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €43,438 million, from €43,925 million in January-September 2022.
