Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-May 2018

In January-May 2018, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of €1,670 million, compared to a deficit of €320 million in the same period of 2017. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €17,707 million, compared to €16,935 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure, including expenditure of about €662 million for the repayment of arrears (compared to €723 million last year), amounted to €19,515 million, from €19,878 million in January-May 2017.
