Bank credit to the domestic private sector: July 2013

The annual growth
rate of total credit extended to the domestic private sector stood at -4.0% in
July 2013, from -4.1%
in the previous month. The net flow of total
credit to the domestic private sector was negative, amounting to EUR 855 million (July
2012: negative net flow of EUR 1,434 million).
Credit to enterprises
The
net flow of credit to enterprises, in July 2013, was negative, amounting to EUR
482 million (July 2012: negative net
flow of EUR 942 million), and the annual growth
rate of credit stood at -4.6%, compared with -4.9% in the previous month. In
particular, the annual growth rate
of credit to non-financial corporations stood at -3.9%,
from -4.2% in the previous month, while the net flow of credit to non-financial
corporations was negative and equal to EUR 449 million (July 2012: negative net flow of EUR 822
million). The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other
financial intermediaries stood at -14.5% in July 2013, from -15.4% in June 2013.
Credit
to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships
The net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was positive,
amounting to EUR 39 million (July 2012: negative net flow of EUR 33 million) and its annual rate of change stood at -1.2%, from -1.6% in June 2013.
Credit to individuals and private non-profit
institutions
In July 2013, the net flow of credit
to individuals and private non-profit institutions was negative, amounting to EUR
412 million (July 2012: negative
net flow of EUR 459 million), and its annual growth rate stood at -3.7%,
compared with -3.6% in June 2013.
