- Total assets of pension funds increased to €1,937 million in the first quarter of 2023, from €1,866 million in the previous quarter.
In the first quarter of 2023, total assets of pension funds increased to €1,937 million compared with €1,866 million in the previous quarter and €1,791 million in the first quarter of 2022.
In further detail, the overall deposits of pension funds decreased to €98 million at the end of the first quarter of 2023, from €134 million in the previous quarter and €348 million in the first quarter of 2022. The share of deposits decreased to 5.1% of total assets in the first quarter of 2023, compared with 7.2% in the previous quarter and 19.5% in the first quarter of 2022.
Total holdings of debt securities increased to €942 million in the first quarter of 2023 from €864 million in the previous quarter and €643 million in the first quarter of 2022; their share in total assets increased to 48.6% compared with 46.3% in the previous quarter and 35.9% in the first quarter of 2022.
Total holdings of investment fund shares increased to €569 million from €544 million in the previous quarter and €474 million in the first quarter of 2022; their share in total assets stood at 29.4% compared with 29.2% in the previous quarter and 26.5 % in the first quarter of 2022.
Total holdings of equity stood at €277 million from €256 million in the previous quarter and €281 million in the first quarter of 2022; their share in total assets stood at 14.3% from 13.7% in the previous quarter, and 15.7% in the first quarter of 2022.
