Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-August 2024

In January-August 2024, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €1,368 million, compared to a deficit of €964 million in the same period of 2023. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €43,422 million, compared to €39,678 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €38,760 million, from €39,000 million in January-August 2023.
