The Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), Danièle Nouy, visits the Bank of Greece

Today, Ms Danièle Nouy, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) at the European Central Bank, completed her two-day visit to Athens and the Bank of Greece.
Ms Nouy met with Governor Yannis Stournaras and other members of the Administration of the Bank of Greece, as well as with representatives of the managements of Greek banks, the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) and the Hellenic Bank Association.
The focus of discussions with Ms Nouy was on the current situation and prospects of Greek banks, in the light of the 2018 stress test, in particular on the question of non-performing exposures and the pressing need to reduce them.
Ms Nouy also met with staff from all the Bank’s departments involved in banking supervision, whom she thanked for the excellent cooperation between the two institutions and with whom she had a fruitful exchange of views on current issues of banking supervision.
