Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-November 2013

In January-November 2013, the central government cash balance showed a deficit of 9,964 million euro, compared to a deficit of 7,672 million euro in the same period in 2012. During this period, ordinary budget revenue, excluding revenue of 1,500 million euro regarding Securities Market Programme (SMP) income transfers from Eurosystem central banks, amounted to 41,638 million euro, compared to 42,919 million euro in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure, including expenditure of about 5,638 million euro for the repayment of arrears, amounted to 52,080 million euro, from 48,830 million euro in January-November 2012.
Τhe cash primary balance of the state budget (-4,007 million euro) turns to a surplus of 3,131 million euro if the revenue of 1,500 million euro regarding Securities Market Programme (SMP) income transfers from Eurosystem central banks is included and expenditure of about 5,638 million euro for the repayment of arrears is excluded.
