Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-July 2024

In January-July 2024, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €338 million, compared to a deficit of €2,178 million in the same period of 2023. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €37,523 million, compared to €33,774 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €34,256 million, from €34,702 million in January-July 2023.
