Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January 2023

In January 2023, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €1,077 million, compared to a deficit of €1,682 million in the same month of 2022. During this month, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €4,708 million, compared to €3,157 million in the corresponding month of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €5,152 million, from €4,333 million in January 2022.
