- Total assets of pension funds increased to €2,018 million in the second quarter of 2023, from €1,937 million in the previous quarter.
In the second quarter of 2023, total assets of pension funds increased to €2,018 million compared with €1,937 million in the previous quarter and €1,764 million in the second quarter of 2022.
In further detail, the overall deposits of pension funds decreased to €69 million at the end of the second quarter of 2023, from €98 million in the previous quarter and €295 million in the second quarter of 2022. The share of deposits decreased to 3.4% of total assets in the second quarter of 2023, compared with 5.1% in the previous quarter and 16.7% in the second quarter of 2022.
Total holdings of debt securities increased to €977 million in the second quarter of 2023 from €942 million in the previous quarter and €655 million in the second quarter of 2022; their share in total assets stood at 48.4% compared with 48.6% in the previous quarter and 37.1% in the second quarter of 2022.
Total holdings of investment fund shares increased to €607 million from €569 million in the previous quarter and €514 million in the second quarter of 2022; their share in total assets increased to 30.1% compared with 29.4% in the previous quarter and 29.2% in the second quarter of 2022.
Total holdings of equity increased to €315 million from €277 million in the previous quarter and €257 million in the second quarter of 2022; their share in total assets increased to 15.6% from 14.3% in the previous quarter, and 14.6% in the second quarter of 2022.
