Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January 2025

In January 2025, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €560 million, compared to a deficit of €239 million in the same month of 2024. During this month, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €5,698 million, compared to €5,091 million in the corresponding month of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €5,488 million, from €4,799 million in January 2024.
