Statistics on Pension Funds: Q2 2022

- Total assets of pension funds decreased to €1,764 million in the second quarter of 2022, from €1,791 million in the previous quarter.

In the second quarter of 2022, total assets of pension funds decreased to €1,764 million compared with €1,791 million in the previous quarter and €1,752 million in the second quarter of 2021.

In further detail, the overall deposits of pension funds decreased to €295 million at the end of the second quarter of 2022, from €348 million in the previous quarter and €236 million in the second quarter of 2021. The share of deposits decreased to 16.7% of total assets in the second quarter of 2022, compared with 19.5% in the previous quarter and 13.5% in the second quarter of 2021.

Total holdings of debt securities increased to €655 million in the second quarter of 2022 from €643 million in the previous quarter and €730 million in the second quarter of 2021; their share in total assets increased to 37.1% compared with 35.9% in the previous quarter and 41.6% in the second quarter of 2021.

Total holdings of investment fund shares increased to €501 million from €474 million in the previous quarter and €435 million in the second quarter of 2021; their share in total assets increased to 28.4% compared with 26.5% in the previous quarter and 24.8% in the second quarter of 2021.

Total holdings of equity decreased to €257 million from €281 million in the previous quarter and €302 million in the second quarter of 2021; their share in total assets decreased to 14.6% from 15.7% in the previous quarter, and 17.2% in the second quarter of 2021.
