Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-July 2026

In January-July 2026, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of €2,283 million, compared to a surplus of €1,859 million in the same period of 2025. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €42,887 million, compared to €40,827 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €41,872 million, from €36,645 million in January-July 2025.
