Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-April 2026

In January-April 2026, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €1,013 million, compared to a surplus of €1,874 million in the same period of 2025. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €22,451 million, compared to €22,232 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €21,600 million, from €19,796 million in January-April 2025.
