Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-September 2026

In January-September 2026, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of €776 million, compared to a surplus of €3,133 million in the same period of 2025. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €56,368 million, compared to €53,923 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €51,979 million, from €46,812 million in January-September 2025.
