Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-December 2024

In January-December 2024, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €1,031 million, compared to a deficit of €2,685 million in the same period of 2023. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €69,434 million, compared to €62,744 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €63,428 million, from €62,195 million in January-December 2023.
