Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis, January-May 2025

In January-May 2025, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €1,327 million, compared to a deficit of €537 million in the same period of 2024. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €27,093 million, compared to €25,272 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €24,983 million, from €23,676 million in January-May 2024.
