Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-May 2023

In January-May 2023, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of €1,920 million, compared to a deficit of €4,994 million in the same period of 2022. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €23,117 million, compared to €19,924 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure amounted to €24,629 million, from €24,569 million in January-May 2022.
