Donation of €5,000,000 to the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) from the Bank of Greece

• The Bank of Greece has decided to donate €5,000,000 to the National Public Health Organisation (EODY).
• The amount is intended for the procurement of hospital equipment and medical supplies.

The General Council of the Bank of Greece, in an emergency meeting in special composition convened by its Chairman, Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras, on Thursday, 26 March 2020, recognising the critical situation facing the national healthcare system and the country as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, decided to donate €5,000,000 to the National Public Health Organisation (EODY), which is coordinating actions to address the pandemic.

The above amount will be deposited into EODY’s account with the Bank of Greece and will be used, at EODY’s discretion and according to its needs, for the procurement of hospital equipment and medical supplies.
