Bank credit to the domestic private sector: November 2016

In November 2016, the annual growth rate of total credit extended to the domestic private sector was -1.3%, from -1.6% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of total credit to the domestic private sector was positive at €62 million, compared with a negative net flow of €308 million in the previous month.
Credit to corporations
In November 2016, the monthly net flow of credit to corporations was positive at €283 million, compared with a negative net flow of €88 million in the previous month, while the annual growth rate of credit was 0.2%, from -0.3% in the previous month. In particular, the annual growth rate of credit to non-financial corporations was 0.5%, from 0.1% in the previous month and the monthly net flow of credit to non-financial corporations was positive at €226 million, against a positive net flow of €126 million in the previous month. The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries was -4.3% in November 2016, from -5.0% in the previous month and the monthly net flow of credit was positive at €57 million, compared with a negative net flow of €214 million in the previous month.
Credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships
In November 2016, the monthly net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was negative at €13 million, compared with a negative net flow of €36 million in the previous month and its annual growth rate stood at -2.1%, from -2.2% in the previous month.
Credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions
In November 2016, the monthly net flow of credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions was negative at €208 million, compared with a negative net flow of €184 million in the previous month and its annual growth rate stood at -2.8%, unchanged compared with the previous month.
