Survey on capital controls and cash withdrawal restrictions
08/11/2017 - Press Releases
Today the Bank of Greece reports the key findings of the survey on capital controls and cash withdrawal restrictions, as well as on their gradual easing. The survey has been conducted by the consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal Hellas (A&M) on behalf of the Bank.
The survey was carried out in summer 2017, as a follow-up to the roadmap on the relaxation of capital controls which was prepared by the Greek authorities and published in May 2017.
The objective of the survey is to gain a snapshot view of the perception of the general public and businesses regarding the impact of the existing capital controls on the economy, their perceptions on the consequences of the gradual relaxation of controls, and other relevant issues.
The key takeaways of the survey, followed by a detailed presentation of its main results, are available here.
