New “e-Appointment” service for transactions with the Bank of Greece

- Citizens and businesses may now schedule online their appointments for cash transactions with the Bank of Greece, choosing a branch, service, date and time of service.
The Bank of Greece launched a new “e-Appointment” platform, with the aim of serving citizens, businesses and professionals faster and easier.
Via the new platform, customers may book, reschedule or cancel their appointments online, without a telephone communication being necessary. They may also choose the branch, service, date and time that suits them and immediately receive confirmation and relevant updates for their appointments.
Eligible transactions for which an e-appointment may be scheduled
Via the platform, appointments may be scheduled for:
- purchase and sale of gold sovereigns and gold coins;
- sale of gold bars or ingots;
- supply of commemorative coins and collectible numismatic products;
- purchase and sale of foreign banknotes at the Branches of the Bank of Greece;
- supply of euro coin rolls;
- exchange of euro coins with banknotes;
- exchange of euro banknotes with lower-denomination banknotes;
- supply of new 5- and 10-euro banknotes;
- exchange of mutilated or damaged euro banknotes;
- cash transactions related to the Greek State or to public sector entities.
The new service is launched as part of the Bank of Greece’s digital transformation and aims to simplify the service process and reduce waiting times. It also enhances transparency and accessibility to the services provided.
