Data reporting on residential properties
To gather the detailed data required for monitoring and analysing the real estate market, the Bank of Greece issued Governor's Act No. 2610/31.10.2008 on the: “Reporting of data by credit institutions in relation to residential properties which are the object of financing, or collateralisation loans granted by credit institutions”.
On the basis of this Act, all credit institutions operating in Greece submit periodically to the Bank of Greece (Economic Analysis and Research Directorate - Real Estate Market Analysis Division) detailed data on the value and quality characteristics of any residential properties which are the object of financing, or collateralisation loans granted.
The relevant Governor's Act No. 2610/31.10.2008, the Annex, which is an integral part thereof, entitled “Detailed specifications of the residential property market reporting system”, which describes in detail the data to be submitted by credit institutions are set out below. An XML Schema is also provided which may be used by credit institutions in order to verify whether the reported data are correct and complete, together with an XML template.
Data reporting on commercial properties
In order to monitor and analyse the commercial real estate market, the Bank of Greece issued Executive Committee Act No. 23/26.07.2013 on: “Reporting of semi-annual data on leases and purchases-sales of commercial properties by credit institutions”. On the basis of this Act, credit institutions operating in Greece submit periodically to the Bank of Greece (Economic Analysis and Research Directorate - Real Estate Market Analysis Division) semi-annual data relating to the commercial properties owned by them at the end of the reporting half year (freehold, owner-occupied or leased) or leased to meet their accommodation needs, and owned properties disposed during the reporting half year.
Relevant Executive Committee Act No. 23/26.07.2013, the Annex, which is an integral part thereof entitled “Guidelines to credit institutions on how to fill in the semi-annual data on commercial property leases and purchases-sales”, which describe in detail the data that must be submitted by credit institutions together with an Excel template for such data reporting are set out below.
