A scientific meeting of the Bank of Greece and the Alpha Bank Historical Archives.
From the establishment of the Greek state to date.
Celebrating 200 years since the Greek Revolution, the Historical Archives of the Bank of Greece and Alpha Bank are joining forces in a scientific meeting on 200 Years of Greek Economy: Between State and Market.
The meeting is convened under the patronage of H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Ms Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The relationship between Greek economy, state and market
Distinguished speakers will present an overview of the progress of the Greek economy from the establishment of the Greek state to date. Their talks will focus on the development of the relationship between the Greek economy, state and market, focusing on issues such as:
• The transformation of Greece from a poor rural country to a developed urban state and the role of the political system.
• The contribution and progress of individual economic sectors, networks and institutions.
• The country's foreign relations.
From 2 to 4 December, distinguished speakers will present the progress of the Greek economy, from the Greek War of Independence in 1821 to this day.
Bank of Greece Governor Mr Yannis Stournaras will be the keynote speaker on Saturday, 4 December 2021.
The meeting will be broadcast live through YouTube.
