- The annual growth rate of total credit extended to the domestic economy stood at 3.7% in June 2024, compared with 2.7% in the previous month.
- The annual growth rate of total deposits increased to 1.8% in June 2024, compared to 1.1% in the previous month.
- Deposits placed by the private sector increased by €3,826 million in June 2024, compared with an increase of €303 million in the previous month.
I. Credit to the domestic economy
Τhe monthly net flow of total credit was positive by €2,462 million in June 2024, compared with a positive net flow of €662 million in the previous month.
Ι.1 Credit to the general government
In June 2024, the monthly net flow of credit to the general government was negative by €852 million, compared with a positive net flow of €597 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at 0.0% from -0.5% in the previous month.
Ι.2 Credit to the private sector
In June 2024, the annual growth rate of credit to the private sector increased to 6.1% from 4.8% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of credit was positive by €3,313 million, compared with a positive net flow of €66 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.1 Credit to corporations
In June 2024, the monthly net flow of credit to corporations was positive by €3,158 million, compared with a positive net flow of €105 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 10.3% from 8.3% in the previous month. In particular, the annual growth rate of credit to non-financial corporations (NFCs) increased to 9.4% from 7.6% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €2,633 million, compared with a positive net flow of €78 million in the previous month. The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries increased to 17.0% from 13.7% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €525 million, compared with a positive net flow of €27 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.2 Credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships
In June 2024, the monthly net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was positive by €67 million, compared with a negative net flow of €7 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to -0.5% compared with 0.3% in the previous month.
Ι.2.3 Credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions
In June 2024, the monthly net flow of credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions was positive by €88 million, compared with a negative net flow of €32 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -0.9% compared with -1.0% in the previous month.
II. Deposits by the domestic economy with the domestic credit institutions
In June 2024, the monthly net flow of total deposits was positive by €3,963 million, compared with a positive net flow of €363 million in May 2024.
ΙΙ.1 Deposits placed by the general government
In June 2024, deposits placed by the general government increased by €137 million, compared with an increase of €60 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -21.8% compared with -27.0% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2 Deposits placed by the private sector
In June 2024, deposits placed by the private sector increased by €3,826 million, compared with an increase of €303 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 2.9% from 2.5% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.1 Corporate deposits
In June 2024, corporate deposits increased by €3,051 million, compared with an increase of €577 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 5.0% from 3.1% in the previous month. In particular, deposits from NFCs increased by €3,283 million, against an increase of €559 million in the previous month. Deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries decreased by €232 million, compared with an increase of €18 million in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.2 Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions
In June 2024, deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions increased by €775 million, compared with a decrease of €274 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate remained almost unchanged at 2.2% compared to 2.3% in the previous month.
