- The annual growth rate of total credit extended to the domestic economy stood at 15.3% in June 2021 compared with 16.6% in the previous month.
- Τhe monthly net flow of total credit was positive by €1,831 million, compared with a positive net flow of €2,402 million in the previous month.
- The annual growth rate of credit to the private sector stood at 2.3% compared with 2.2% in the previous month.
- The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 12.5% compared with 11.2% in the previous month.
- Τhe monthly net flow of total deposits was positive by €2,378 million, compared with a positive net flow of €386 million in May 2021.
- Deposits placed by the private sector increased by €1,619 million in June 2021, compared with an increase of €359 million in the previous month.
I. Credit to the domestic economy
Ι.1 Credit to the general government
In June 2021, the monthly net flow of credit to the general government was positive by €1,339 million, compared with a positive net flow of €2,419 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 60.6% from 72.8% in the previous month.
Ι.2 Credit to the private sector
In June 2021, the annual growth rate of credit to the private sector stood at 2.3% compared with 2.2% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of credit was positive by €493 million, compared with a negative net flow of €17 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.1 Credit to corporations
In June 2021, the monthly net flow of credit to corporations was positive by €399 million, compared with a positive net flow of €68 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at 6.3% compared with 6.2% in the previous month. In particular, the annual growth rate of credit to non-financial corporations (NFCs) remained unchanged at 6.2% compared to the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €278 million, compared with a positive net flow of €49 million in the previous month. The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries increased to 7.8% from 6.8% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €120 million, compared with a positive net flow of €19 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.2 Credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships
In June 2021, the monthly net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was positive by €87 million, compared with a negative net flow of €9 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 4.4% from 3.9% in the previous month.
Ι.2.3 Credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions
In June 2021, the monthly net flow of credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions was positive by €7 million, compared with a negative net flow of €77 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate remained at -2.5% unchanged from the previous month.
II. Deposits by the domestic economy with the domestic credit institutions
ΙΙ.1 Deposits placed by the general government
In June 2021, deposits placed by the general government increased by €759 million, compared with an increase of €27 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -14.2% compared with -22.2% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2 Deposits placed by the private sector
In June 2021, deposits placed by the private sector increased by €1,619 million, compared with an increase of €359 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 14.5% from 13.7% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.1 Corporate deposits
In June 2021, corporate deposits increased by €1,077 million, compared with an increase of €281 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 19.3% from 21.4% in the previous month. In particular, deposits from NFCs increased by €1,278 million, against an increase of €1,498 million in the previous month. Deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries decreased by €201 million, compared with a decrease of €1,217 million in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.2 Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions
In June 2021, deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions increased by €542 million, compared with an increase of €78 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 9.7% from 9.4% in the previous month.

- The general government includes central government, local government and social security funds.
- Deposits include repos.
- The Bank of Greece is not included in domestic credit institutions.
