-The annual growth rate of total credit extended to the domestic economy stood at 10.3% in February 2022, compared with 10.0% in the previous month.
-The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 8.1%, unchanged from the previous month.
-Deposits placed by the private sector decreased by €260 million in February 2022, compared with a decrease of €2,232 million in the previous month.
I. Credit to the domestic economy
Τhe monthly net flow of total credit was positive by €857 million in February 2022, compared with a positive net flow of €1,671 million in the previous month.
Ι.1 Credit to the general government
In February 2022, the monthly net flow of credit to the general government was negative by €111 million, compared with a positive net flow of €2,974 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate remained unchanged at 33.0%.
Ι.2 Credit to the private sector
In February 2022, the annual growth rate of credit to the private sector increased to 1.4% from 0.9% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of credit was positive by €969 million, compared with a negative net flow of €1,303 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.1 Credit to corporations
In February 2022, the monthly net flow of credit to corporations was positive by €1,030 million, compared with a negative net flow of €994 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 4.4%, from 3.5% in the previous month. In particular, the annual growth rate of credit to non-financial corporations (NFCs) was 2.9% from 2.8% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €363 million, compared with a negative net flow of €637 million in the previous month. The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries increased to 21.1% from 11.7% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €667 million, compared with a negative net flow of €357 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.2 Credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships
In February 2022, the monthly net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was positive by €8 million, compared with a negative net flow of €66 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 0.9% from 1.1% in the previous month.
Ι.2.3 Credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions
In February 2022, the monthly net flow of credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions was negative by €69 million, compared with a negative net flow of €244 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate remained almost unchanged at -2.3%.
II. Deposits by the domestic economy with the domestic credit institutions
Τhe monthly net flow of total deposits was negative by €10 million, compared with a negative net flow of €1,962 million in January 2022.
ΙΙ.1 Deposits placed by the general government
In February 2022, deposits placed by the general government increased by €250 million, compared with an increase of €270 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -1.5%, compared with -12.0% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2 Deposits placed by the private sector
In February 2022, deposits placed by the private sector decreased by €260 million, compared with a decrease of €2,232 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 8.7% from 9.3% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.1 Corporate deposits
In February 2022, corporate deposits decreased by €215 million, compared with a decrease of €1,774 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 19.9% from 22.0% in the previous month. In particular, deposits from NFCs decreased by €333 million, against a decrease of €2,387 million in the previous month. Deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries increased by €118 million, compared with an increase of €613 million in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.2 Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions
In February 2022, deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions decreased by €45 million, compared with a decrease of €457 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 5.5% from 5.8% in the previous month.

1. The general government includes central government, local government and social security funds.

3. The Bank of Greece is not included in domestic credit institutions.
