Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-May 2017

In January-May 2017, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of €320 million, compared to a deficit of €208 million in the same period of 2016. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €16,935 million, compared to €17,175 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure, including expenditure of about €723 million for the repayment of arrears, amounted to €19,878 million, from €18,366 million in January-May 2016.
