Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January 2018

In January 2018, the central government cash balance recorded a surplus of €1,098 million, compared to a surplus of €183 million in the same month of 2017. During this month, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €4,158 million, compared to €3,694 million in the corresponding month of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure, including expenditure of about €21 million for the repayment of arrears (compared to €41 million last year), amounted to €3,043 million, from €3,191 million in January 2017.
