Central government net borrowing requirement on a cash basis: January-July 2016

In January-July 2016, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of €1,807 million, compared to a deficit of €1,416 million in the same period in 2015. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €25,441 million, compared to €23,805 million in the corresponding period of last year. Revenue of €43 million regarding Securities Markets Programme (SMP) income transfers from the Bank of Greece is excluded. Ordinary budget expenditure, including expenditure of about €1,109 million for the repayment of arrears, amounted to €27,736 million, from €25,712 million in January-July 2015.
