- The annual growth rate of total credit extended to the domestic economy decreased to 5.4% in October 2025 from 7.8% in the previous month.
- The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 6.0% in October 2025 from 6.3% in the previous month.
- Deposits placed by the private sector decreased by €2,129 million in October 2025, compared with an increase of €2,649 million in the previous month.
I. Credit to the domestic economy
Τhe monthly net flow of total credit was negative by €1,701 million in October 2025, compared with a positive net flow of €2,866 million in the previous month.
Ι.1 Credit to the general government
In October 2025, the monthly net flow of credit to the general government was negative by €317 million, compared with a positive net flow of €695 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 1.5% from 3.1% in the previous month.
Ι.2 Credit to the private sector
In October 2025, the annual growth rate of credit to the private sector decreased to 7.8%, from 10.7% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of credit was negative by €1,384 million, compared with a positive net flow of €2,171 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.1 Credit to corporations
In October 2025, the monthly net flow of credit to corporations was negative by €1,377 million, compared with a positive net flow of €2,015 million in the previous month, while the annual growth rate decreased to 11.0% from 15.6% in the previous month. In particular, the annual growth rate of credit to non-financial corporations (NFCs) decreased to 11.2% from 16.1% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was negative by €1,030 million, compared with a positive net flow of €1,845 million in the previous month. The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries decreased to 9.5% from 11.2% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was negative by €348 million, compared with a positive net flow of €170 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.2 Credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships
In October 2025, the monthly net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was negative by €34 million, compared with a positive net flow of €25 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -0.4%, from -1.0% in the previous month.
Ι.2.3 Credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions
In October 2025, the monthly net flow of credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions was positive by €27 million, compared with a positive net flow of €131 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 1.7% from 1.4% in the previous month.
II. Deposits by the domestic economy with the domestic credit institutions
In October 2025, the monthly net flow of total deposits was negative by €2,576 million, compared with a positive net flow of €3,058 million in the previous month.
ΙΙ.1 Deposits placed by the general government
In October 2025, deposits placed by the general government decreased by €447 million, compared with an increase of €409 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate decreased to 18.7% from 32.4% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2 Deposits placed by the private sector
In October 2025, deposits placed by the private sector decreased by €2,129 million, compared with an increase of €2,649 million in the previous month; the annual growth remained almost unchanged at 5.6% from 5.5% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.1 Corporate deposits
In October 2025, corporate deposits decreased by €2,351 million, compared with an increase of €2,744 million in the previous month; the annual growth remained almost unchanged at 12.3% from 12.2% in the previous month. In particular, deposits from NFCs decreased by €2,313 million, against an increase of €2,987 million in the previous month. Deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries decreased by €38 million, compared with a decrease of €244 million in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.2 Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions
In October 2025, deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions increased by €222 million, compared with a decrease of €95 million in the previous month; the annual growth increased to 3.4% from 3.1% in the previous month.
