- The annual growth rate of total credit extended to the domestic economy stood at 7.8% in September 2025 from 7.4% in the previous month.
- The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 6.3% in September 2025 from 6.1% in the previous month.
- Deposits placed by the private sector increased by €2,649 million in September 2025, compared with an increase of €2.054 million in the previous month.
I. Credit to the domestic economy
Τhe monthly net flow of total credit was positive by €2,881 million in September 2025, compared with a negative net flow of €23 million in the previous month.
Ι.1 Credit to the general government
In September 2025, the monthly net flow of credit to the general government was positive by €695 million, compared with a negative net flow of €189 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 3.2% from 2.4% in the previous month.
Ι.2 Credit to the private sector
In September 2025, the annual growth rate of credit to the private sector remained almost unchanged at 10.7%, from 10.6% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of credit was positive by €2,186 million, compared with a positive net flow of €166 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.1 Credit to corporations
In September 2025, the monthly net flow of credit to corporations was positive by €2,020 million, compared with a positive net flow of €151 million in the previous month, while the annual growth rate stood at 15.6% from 15.8% in the previous month. In particular, the annual growth rate of credit to non-financial corporations (NFCs) stood at 16.1%, unchanged from the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €1,850 million, compared with a positive net flow of €173 million in the previous month. The annual growth rate of credit to insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries decreased to 11.2% from 12.9% in the previous month; the monthly net flow was positive by €170 million, compared with a negative net flow of €22 million in the previous month.
Ι.2.2 Credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships
In September 2025, the monthly net flow of credit to sole proprietors and unincorporated partnerships was positive by €34 million, compared with a negative net flow of €16 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate stood at -0,8%, from -0.5% in the previous month.
Ι.2.3 Credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions
In September 2025, the monthly net flow of credit to individuals and private non-profit institutions was positive by 133 million, compared with a positive net flow of €31 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 1.4% from 0.9% in the previous month.
II. Deposits by the domestic economy with the domestic credit institutions
In September 2025, the monthly net flow of total deposits was positive by €3,058 million, compared with a positive net flow of €2,328 million in the previous month.
ΙΙ.1 Deposits placed by the general government
In September 2025, deposits placed by the general government increased by €409 million, compared with an increase of €274 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 32.4% from 27.1% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2 Deposits placed by the private sector
In September 2025, deposits placed by the private sector increased by €2,649 million, compared with an increase of €2,054 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate remained almost unchanged at 5.5% from 5.4% in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.1 Corporate deposits
In September 2025, corporate deposits increased by €2,744 million, compared with an increase of €1,046 million in the previous month; the annual growth rate increased to 12.2% from 11.2% in the previous month. In particular, deposits from NFCs increased by €2,987 million, against an increase of €1,082 million in the previous month. Deposits placed by insurance corporations and other financial intermediaries decreased by €244 million, compared with a decrease of €37 million in the previous month.
ΙΙ.2.2 Deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions
In September 2025, deposits placed by households and private non-profit institutions decreased by €95 million, compared with an increase of €1,008 million in the previous month; the annual growth decreased to 3.1% from 3.4% in the previous month.

- The general government includes central government, local government and social security funds.
- Deposits include repos.
- The Bank of Greece is not included in domestic credit institutions.
