Non Monetary Financial Institutions

The Bank of Greece publishes on a quarterly (or monthly) basis the most important asset and liability items of financial institutions that do not belong to the monetary financial institutions sector. Non monetary financial institutions comprise insurance companies, mutual funds other than money market funds regulated by Law 3283/2004, portfolio investment companies (PICs) regulated by Law 3371/2005, real estate investment companies (REICs) regulated by Law 778/1999, leasing companies, factoring companies, venture capital companies and credit/finance houses. The data are derived from the balance sheets that, according to the relevant ‘Acts of the Governor of the Bank of Greece’, these financial institutions must submit to the Bank of Greece. The main purpose of this data submission is the compilation of the financial accounts of Greece.
